Bulk Sampling & Audit
Bulk sampling & audit
service for placer gold operations

Macon Industries and it’s affiliated metallurgical laboratory can help with greenfield sample assay, bulk sampling and benchmarking performance of existing operations.

Green Field: Bulk Sampling
The bulk sampling process aims at evaluating the recoverable gold content of a deposit. A large sample volume ensures representative results.
STEP 1
Multiple bulk samples are collected from strategic locations around the deposit.
STEP 2
Samples are processed through a test plant such as Macon’s T150.
STEP 3
Concentrate and tailings cuts are submitted to Macon for size-by-size analysis and bulk-gravity fire assays. All gold values are returned to the customer.
STEP 4
A detailed report is provided specifying sample characteristics and suggested washplant scale-up criteria.
Recovery Audit (for mines in operation)
The Macon Recovery Audit aims at determining actual recovery rates at production scale. Accurate tailings and concentrate analytics uncover how gold is recovered and provide guidance for improvement.
Download Procedure overview
STEP 1
A sample of 1000+ tons of material is processed. Washplant audits are offered for Macon and non-Macon washplants. Audits are done over one day with minimal to no interruption of gold production.
STEP 2
While material is processed through the washplant, a Macon designer collects the required samples for subsequent analysis.
STEP 3
Concentrate and tailings cuts are submitted to Macon for size-by-size analysis and bulk-gravity fire assays. All gold values are returned to the customer.
STEP 4
A detailed report provides information about gold recovery by particle size and explains improvement opportunities
What Our Customers Say
Geotech Drilling Services Ltd has been working with Zinex and Macon since 2010, initially with the procurement of one A5 drill. Based upon success with the unit at two historically challenging drill sites, and the exemplary customer service provided from troubleshooting to limited timelines from Zinex/Macon’s staff, Geotech has expanded exponentially with the assistance of their team. Geotech currently has grown its drilling fleet to include 9 surface A5 drills, one U5 underground drill and one newly designed TRLS5 tracked drill working in environments ranging from extreme heat in the Sub-Sahara(West Africa) to extreme cold in the far North (Arctic Circle). Zinex/Macon continues to be collaborative, efficient and inventive with new concepts and equipment, and Geotech will endeavuor to continue its business into the future with their team.”
